About Hotel de Vie

Hotel de Vie was launched from this very location in Farnham in 2007. The brainchild of two successful business managers (Roger and Jim).

The hotel was developed without any direct previous experience of running a hotel, but instead was based on what they felt would be liked by their guests, from their own experiences at hotels from around the world.

Various consultants and advisors were brought in throughout the process (including Jason), and after six months of dedicated renovation, the hotel opened its doors in early September.

Although the hotel was originally targeted at the leisure travellers' market, it was soon realised that business travellers wanted somewhere like this to stay too.

Particularly at weekends though, around 95% of our guests are still staying with us for leisure (rather than on business in the area).

As a child free hotel, we are particularly popular with couples seeking some rest-bite, and some relaxing and romantic time away.

We're also very popular with people visiting weddings in the area (including the bride and groom often on their wedding night, the bridesmaids before the wedding day, and the guests visiting for the wedding itself).

There are also a host of other local attractions, such as the Goodwood Festival, Farnborough Airshow, London 2012 Olympics, the Farnham Maltings, etc... that many of our guests also have the pleasure of visiting.

It was a busy first year of trading, with word of mouth spreading quickly through friends and colleagues of our guests.

The recession affected guest levels slightly, but maintained a steady occupancy throughout the period.

Jason stayed here again as a guest in late December 2009, and loved it so much, when the opportunity became available, he brought the business in August 2010.

Roger and Jim still maintain their position as landlords. However, Jason now holds a business lease for Hotel de Vie, and continues to build upon the excellent work already carried out (i.e. we've now reached #1 in the area).
